Our philosophy

The internet is changing. Some time ago there was mostly only expencive software for web such as Content Management Systems with huge license-fees.

Not so today. Now there are thousands of different Open Source software available to you, mostly for free, and without license-fees. Open Source systems are often maintained and developed by voulanteeres and done on spare time without any payment. It is like communities, really.

At the moment both businessmodels are available, the main difference is in the support of the software. Thus, if you are a big company with a nice budget, you might choose to buy software from a provider, which normally would include support. If you are a small business however, or even a private person, you might want to consider a Open Source Platform. But even bigger businesses are using Open Source Software theese days.

With some knowledge about programs, you might be able to to it all by yourself. Open Source is mostly free, and if you have time too spare and the interest too learn, you could build your own site. Many, however, choose to let someone do the installation, setup and provide for you a design. It is also advicable to upgrade the system when new versions are available due to the risk of hacking of your website, and also because of bugfixes and general upgrades. This you could do yourself, or have some sort of maintainance ageement with a provider such as ourself.

When the site is up and running, you can log in to website through a administrationpanel and update the content of your website, similar to using a wordprossesor such as Microsoft Office. Support is available through communities and you will be able to get payed support as well if you make a deal with such a provider.

In this way, you will only invest in the initial setup of your site with the desired functionality, and later basically you pay only your domainname and webhotel. No monthly fees! You may save big amounts of money this way. The programs are often as good as the payed options, and often even better in termes of options, because the fact that there are thousands of people making extentions, options and functions for them.

Examples of Open Source projects: Drupal and Joomla, the two biggest and most used CMS-systems on the planet. Linux is the worlds most used operating system for webservers, and many PC's and laptops also uses Linux. OpenOffice is the Open Source equivalent to Microsoft Office, and users worldwide are increasing. There are tens of thousands of programs and scripts made, such as Invoicing systems, Booking systems, Calendars and much more. The website you are reading now uses CMS Made Simple, one excellent peace of Open Source software.

Where possible, we use only Open Source Software in our projects. We also offer support for the systems we use, sometimes with the help from various other persons and companies. We also contribute 5% of our earnings to the chosen Open Source Project, to help further development of the system.
